How to support veterans on Anzac Day and every day

Supporting serving members, veterans and their families is important to do every day, not just on Anzac Day. Your support can help saves lives and reduce the rate of suicide amongst serving and ex-serving members.

How can you provide support?

Have a conversation with people you know who are serving or ex-serving, or their families, about how they are going.

By listening to serving, ex-serving members and their families, you are providing support and understanding about their unique challenges and they know people are behind them.

Stay informed

The Royal Commission has run for nearly three years, uncovering what needs to be done at Defence, Department of Veterans’ Affairs and at support group level, to ensure serving and ex-serving members are supported. Our final report is due to the Governor-General on 9 September.

By staying informed and engaged with the issue of defence and veteran suicide, you will help save lives, create change and contribute to a more sustainable Defence force.
